I’m a journalist by training, with almost a decade of experience working in regional and national media.

I’m also a survivor of Childhood Sexual Abuse (CSA), a realisation I came to in my mid-teens.

My experiences as a child have had repercussions that have affected my health and well being for most of my adult life.

After spending more than fifteen years trying to cope with the impact of the abuse I suffered, I decided enough was enough.

In the summer of 2014 I was interviewed by police and, in October 2015, a case was brought against the man who abused me.

My testimony helped to secure his conviction in November 2016 and, in January 2017, he was sentenced to four years in prison.

Since that time, I’ve been sharing my story as far as possible to help other survivors find the courage to tell their own stories – whether that’s publicly, like me, or more privately among friends and loved ones.
